Italy’s Golden Age on Rails — A Journey that Moves You, Literally and Emotionally

❝Not just a train ride. A moving celebration of Italy’s past, present and unapologetic beauty.❞
Launched in a blaze of glamour at Rome’s Termini Station in April 2025, La Dolce Vita by Orient Express is a rebirth of Italian elegance—and not just in name. It’s a masterpiece in motion, brought to life by Accor and Orient Express, and it marks a bold new chapter for luxury travel. This is about cultural immersion, fine design, slow indulgence, and unforgettable storytelling.
A Legacy Reimagined
You may know the Orient Express as the train of mystery novels and mid-century glamour. But this isn’t a revival—it’s a revolution. With La Dolce Vita, the Orient Express brand is expanding its luxury vision to include not only rail, but hotels (hello, Rome and Venice!) and even a superyacht, Orient Express Silenseas, launching in 2026.
But here and now, the magic starts on the rails—through the heart of Italy.
The Design: Cinematic, Sensual, Italian

Six newly built trains, designed by Dimorestudio, reflect 1960s–70s Italian flair: think Gio Ponti meets Gucci. Onboard you’ll find:
12 Deluxe Cabins
18 Luxury Suites
1 ultra-exclusive La Dolce Vita Suite
An opulent Lounge Car, perfect for piano evenings
A Restaurant Car that’s more high fashion than fine dining
Each detail—from Murano glass sconces to terrazzo floors—has been handpicked to honour Italy’s design heritage, making every carriage a rolling art gallery.
A Culinary Coup: Heinz Beck at the Helm

Yes, you read that right. Three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck, of La Pergola in Rome, is overseeing the onboard menus. His culinary direction will rotate with the seasons and routes, celebrating Italy’s regional gastronomy in an intimate, elevated setting.
Meals are prepared fresh on board using local ingredients sourced along the journey. Expect elegant, surprising, utterly Italian flavours—and yes, there will be truffle.
“Food is memory,” says Beck. “A voyage with La Dolce Vita will leave you with a thousand flavours to remember.”
Sip & Savour: The Vinitaly Lounge Onboard
La Dolce Vita has partnered with Vinitaly, Italy’s most prestigious wine exhibition, to create the Vinitaly Lounge onboard—a dedicated wine-tasting experience featuring Italy’s finest DOCG and natural wines. This isn’t just another bar car. It’s a travelling sommelier service wrapped in elegance.
Expect to swirl a Super Tuscan at golden hour while rolling past olive groves. Because why not?

Grand Première Recap: A New Travel Era Begins
The official launch took place at Rome Termini Station in April 2025, unveiling the very first La Dolce Vita train in the presence of global press, dignitaries, and design-world elite. The event set the tone: not just luxury, but a cultural movement—fusing architecture, storytelling, and the spirit of Italian hospitality into every inch of the journey.
“This is a train that doesn’t just move—it moves you,” said Orient Express CEO Omer Acar.
Who Is This For?
It’s for the culture lover.
The design aficionado.
The slow travel advocate.
The seasoned traveller who’s outgrown predictable itineraries.
This is not about checking boxes. It’s about collecting moods. The feeling of salt air and piano keys. Of vintage martinis and whispered histories. Of being present—finally.
Ready to Step Aboard?
La Dolce Vita is not mass-market. Space is extremely limited, departures are exclusive, and as of now—it’s only available to a lucky few.
