(Australia Edition – Cruise Included)

Why You Need It
• Medical costs overseas aren’t covered by Medicare.
• The Australian Government won’t pay your medical bills, evacuation, or shipboard medical costs.
• Protects against cancellations, delays, missed ports, and accidents at sea.
• Gives peace of mind so you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
What to Check in Any Travel Insurance Policy
• Medical cover limit – is it high enough for expensive destinations and shipboard treatment?
• Emergency evacuation & repatriation – includes helicopter evacuation from a cruise ship?
• Trip cancellation cover – prepaid flights, hotels, cruises covered?
• Lost / stolen luggage – are sub-limits enough for valuables?
• Travel delays – meals, hotels, rebooking covered?
• Pre-existing conditions – are they covered, or can you apply?
• Adventure activities – shore excursions included?
• Excess – what amount do you pay before the insurer pays?
Cruise-Specific Coverage to Look For
• Shipboard medical costs – treatment onboard is expensive; is it fully covered?
• Missed port cover – compensation if ports skipped due to weather/mechanical issues.
• Missed connection – if you miss embarkation due to delayed flights.
• Cabin confinement – daily allowance if confined due to illness (e.g., gastro, COVID).
• Cruise cancellation / interruption – if you must cancel partway through.
• Onshore excursion cover – accidents or cancellations during excursions covered?
• Cruise line insolvency – cover if a cruise line ceases operations.
